Upright

Tradition associates The Tower with the collapse of structures built on shaky foundations, whether beliefs, plans or appearances. It invites you to see that fall as a truth being revealed that frees you from what was false. What remains standing afterwards is what is authentic.

Reversed

Reversed, it suggests trying to hold up something that is already cracking, or avoiding a change that would ultimately bring relief. It can also indicate that the shake-up has passed and it is time to rebuild. The lesson is to release control in order to rebuild on more honest foundations.
